Awesome!
Game is what you expect if you played the first Bioshock although to me it lacks a little creepy factor that I most enjoyed in the first game it's still a really cool fun game. The multiplayer for me is much easier to play as oposed to a cod or halo multiplayer that can be hard to adapt to at least with the plasmids in this game you get a chance to kill people lol but all in all well worth the $$ spent : ) 2010-03-09

Great game, story falls a bit shot but multiplayer is very different
I walked into this game with some doubt even with the stellar reviews i could not imagine a good sequel for bioshock the master of fps story lines. The story starts out with a bang but slows down until the end of the entire game. The rest of the game is composed of the train is stuck kill someone to get it working again. That, for me, was the worst part of the game even though they made rapture such a nice place to explore i got tired of walking around to get my train to work once again. But never fear the game will pick back up later on, i wont spoil anything. The ending was very satisfying, its nothing like bioshock's one weakness, its ending. The multiplayer is very different and it is surprisingly fun. When i picked this game up the last thing i thought was i was going to play the multiplayer but while i type this review i can not wait to get back to playing. The plasmids and the different way the tonics all blend into the multiplayer experience gives bioshock 2 its own place in FPS multiplayer history. Its its own unique thing that is actually being supported the first DLC is coming out soon and looks very cool. Over all i would say that you should pick this game out. Sure the storyline is not bioshock one but it is still very good and rivals most other games that are put out anyways. Its a must have ^^ If you do pick it up or any other game add me PSN - Thetijessop Xbox - Soaring Spoon 2010-03-09

Amazing!
I bought this for my husband for his birthday! He absolutely loves it (he's playing right now!). He finished Bioshock, so what better present than Bioshock 2. 2010-03-09

My two year old is concerned for the little girls...
When I saw my husband playing this in front of her I made him stop, so now he plays after her bedtime. Bought this for my husband, he absolutely loves this game... he's is a little psychotic, so all the gore and darkness was super good times for him. He did have a little difficulty playing at night as anytime he heard a noise, he'd jump through his skin, he's a jumpy-psycho. My brother on the otherhand was disturbed by this game, too much so that playing with the lights on wasn't helping, so he settled on CoD.
Personally, I love this game, it's been about 2 weeks since I've seen my husband.

A good sequel, but nothing revoultionary
BioShock 1 was revoluntionary. It still is one of my favorite games of all time. The world of Rapture was a great place to discover and in the first game I was intrigued at every audio diary I found. The story was superb, and the twists kept me guessing all the way to the end. Now that you've unravelled the mystery of Rapture this sequel comes along and though there's nothing technically wrong with the game itself the guessing game is gone. You already know about all the splicers, you know all about what happened to Rapture, so the intrigue is gone.
It's an all new story taking place 10 years after the first game ends. This time around you play as a "Delta" Big Daddy so you now have control over the drill, rivet gun, and other Big Daddy weapons not available in the first game. I was a bit disappointed with the strength of the Big Daddy. It's all too easy to die in the game, which is nowhere near indicative of the last game where it took every bit of your smarts to kill one. If you're unprepared a few splicers can take you out pretty easily - something that would never happen in BioShock 1.
The new game does bring some new stuff to the table. As I said you play as a Big Daddy and the drill is pretty cool especially when you dash across the room killing most splicers with one shot. Several new weapons including a "sniper" style weapon is pretty neat. Also you can control both your plasmid hand and your weapon hand at the same time so the action is much more fast paced. No more shocking your enemy, then switching to your gun to finish him off. Also there's a few new splicers this time around including a Brute Splicer which is about 4x the size of a normal splicer and is very strong. And let's not forget the main enemy - the Big Sister. Just before she arrives the music is eerily scary. It makes your hairs stand on end and you have no idea which direction she's coming. She is the toughest character in the game to defeat. She's as strong as Big Daddy, but as agile as a Houdini Splicer. You've got your work cut out to keep up with her and finish her off at the same time.
A few tweaks are present as well that make for a more enjoyable experience. The pipe hacking mini-game is gone; now it's a timed mini-game that takes place during the action. This means if you try to hack a turret it'll shoot you while you're hacking it. Also the research camera is updated so that it now records video instead of snapping pictures. In the first game you could take a lot of damage to pull off a good shot, but this time all you need to do is start the video recording and then defeat the splicer. Depending on how you finish them off (use as many different ways as possible) you'll get a higher score.
Overall, this is a good game, and a good place to pick up from the first game. If you loved the first game, then there's no doubt you'll love this too, but that said this game is not a GOTY style quality game because it doesn't bring that much new to the table. The addition of multiplayer is nice, but I haven't found much of a need to play it but a few times so I can't comment completely on that at this time.
I'd give it an 8.5 out of 10 overall.
